3 December 2021 - The 9th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards Ceremony was held in-person in Singapore and broadcasted virtually globally on 3 December 2021 at the finale of the Ageing Asia 2021 - World Ageing Festival (Oct - Dec) - The Hybrid Edition. 111 award finalists were recognised from 13 countries: Singapore, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong SAR China, Japan, Belgium, Republic of China Taiwan, USA and Norway, into the finalists rounds of the OSCARS of the eldercare industry.
The global finalists met virtually and live in-person in Singapore for the awards ceremony to applaud, celebrate and be recognised for their innovative and quality approaches to change the way the regions’ older adults age, and for their contributions in shaping the future of the ageing landscape. “The annual awards aims to recognise the care sector for eldercare innovation in their business, operational and service models that strive to improve the way seniors age. Many of our global representatives may not be able to be present at the awards, nonetheless, their contributions and efforts would not be missed because the team and the awards committee are making every effort possible to bring the awards to them regardless of geographical location or time zone. During this new normal, the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards continue to recognise and honour organisations that commit to improving the quality of life, care and happiness for our seniors”, said Ms Janice Chia, Founder & Managing Director, Ageing Asia, organiser of the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards.
Special remarks during the ceremony were made by Dr The Honourable Lam Ching-choi, SBS, JP, Member of the Executive Council, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The People’s Republic of China, Chairman, Elderly Commission, Hong Kong SAR, CEO, Haven of Hope Christian Service, Hong Kong SAR, and we also received congratulatory messages from our judges.
Ms Julianne Parkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Global Centre for Modern Ageing, Australia presented the “Prize of Choice” with A$15,000 worth of Global Centre for Modern Ageing (GCMA) services each awarded to “Innovation of the Year - Product” and “Start Up of the Year” category winners.
The 2021 edition celebrated 27 categories in the themes of Design & Architecture, Innovation, Model of Care, Operational Efficiency & Technology, Programmes, Community, Marketing, Research, Startup and Global Ageing Influencers. The prestigious individual nomination categories - Ageing Asia Global Ageing Influencers honours outstanding individuals annually who have developed innovations, programmes or services that advance standard of living for older adults on a global scale.
The 9th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2021 received over 200 entry submissions during its call for submissions. This year the finalist entries were judged by an international panel of judging committee made up of distinguished industry experts. The 24 member judging panel participated from Australia, Hong Kong SAR China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand USA, UK and Singapore, and identified the winners via an interactive virtual judging format over 3 days in October.

ABOUT THE AGEING ASIA 2021 - WORLD AGEING FESTIVAL (THE HYBRID EDITION)
As Asia Pacific’s BIGGEST Eldercare Show, the festival presents the BIGGEST international ageing event in 25 days across three months, showcasing over 189 speakers with 5,400 participants from 48 countries and over 140 CPD hours of global eldercare content. By 2025, the Asia Pacific ageing market is projected at US$4.56 Trillion.
The audience that has tuned into the festival includes industry leaders, care facilities and seniors globally across the zoom platform, official festival exhibition virtual hall and social media.
The AAIF main conference aims to showcase the world’s most innovative eldercare models that will enable Healthy Ageing, Independent Ageing and Dignified Ageing, and encourages greater collaborations between business, government and community organisations.
