About this Speaker
Dr Belinda Wee graduated with an MBBS degree and obtained her FP accreditation from NUS. Together with her husband, she founded and practised at Picton Medical Centre in Singapore. They relinquished their practice and moved to NZ to live and work. She visited medical, assisted living facilities and retirement villages around NZ and brought the idea of dignity of care back to Singapore.
The couple started Good Shepherd Loft, a private Nursing Home in Singapore in 2010. Recognising the need for more autonomy in able-bodied Seniors, they started Singapore’s first assisted living facility, St Bernadette Lifestyle Village in 2015. They have since started 2 other ALFs and are in the process of developing another.
Dr Wee incorporated the Assisted Living Facilities Association of Singapore in 2018 and together with stakeholders, has written ALFA’s ‘Good Practice Guide: Dignity and Discerned Autonomy Assisted Living Care Tool’.
