About this Speaker
Junie Foo is the Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Welfare Services (MWS), a Christian non-profit organisation, purposed to serve the disadvantaged and distressed regardless of race and religion, by alleviating poverty holistically.
Junie joined MWS in 2018 following two decades in the banking sector holding senior management positions in international banks, such as Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank and MUFG Bank. It was a big but timely change as Junie sought to serve in a more socially impactful way. She believes in “doing good well” and looks to bring about greater professionalism in the social service sector.
Junie is a Fellow and council member of the Singapore Institute of Directors where she chairs the Board Diversity and Advisory committee. She is also a member of the Council for Board Diversity, established by the Ministry of Social and Family Development. In addition, Junie is the Chairperson of Singapore Kindness Movement Council, President of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations, and Founding Chair of BoardAgender. She also sits on the board of the Singapore Art Museum, the advisory council of the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and is a member of the SIM Governing Council (Audit and Risk Committee).
