Dr Katie Avery

About this Speaker

Dr Katie Avery graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science. After securing her MSc in Biosciences (Biotechnology), from the University of Nottingham, she was awarded her PhD in Stem Cell Research from the University of Sheffield. She moved to Singapore in 2009 to undertake a postdoctoral position as a research fellow at A*STAR. Subsequently, she been working in the higher education field for the last decade, both as a senior lecturer and in educational management, specialising on curriculum design. Dr Katie is currently the Education Manager at The Salvation Army Peacehaven Jade Circle Acaredemy, where she develops and delivers training programmes in the fields of health and social care, with a special focus on Dementia Care. Her passion lies in providing training opportunities which are interactive, memorable, and accessible to all.
