About this talk

With global aging, there is a growing sense of urgency on the need to promote generational engagements, especially with a vision towards an age-inclusive society. In response, we have seen more efforts to promote intergenerational understanding. This talk adds to these recent efforts with an emphasis on placemaking through the framework of Intergenerational Contact Zones (ICZ), a multi-dimensional conceptual approach towards the sensitization and understanding, application, reframing and situating of intergenerational connections in place. In the discussion, we will provide examples of creative intergenerational placemaking to help those interested to develop activate, and nurture engaging intergenerational encounters.
